Axis World Graphics- SAAS Development
As Engineering Manager for Chyron Corporation, I became responsible for the development and operations of a SAS based Television News Graphics creation service called Axis World Graphics. Axis is a hosted service that provides tools to TV News Producers to create self service animated maps and news graphics based on feeds from Bing Maps, Thompson Reuters, and the Associated Press graphics bank.
Under my direction, we restructured the hosting infrastructure to make it fully redundant in diverse data centers. We migrated the data center from NYC to RackSpace and finally to its current location in Salt Lake City. We also took on a ground up redesign of the software services. With Version 2.0 of the Axis World Graphics services, we are currently servicing over 5000 producers of most major US broadcasters for whom we generate thousands of graphics and animated maps a day.
